چکیده
This review aims to understand the environmental impact that tailings produce on land and marine ecosystem. Issues related flora, fauna, environment are revised. In first instance, origin of treatment disposal mining waste in Chile other countries is studied. The importance tailings’ valuable elements analyzed through mineralogy, chemical composition, oceanographic interactions. Several treatments seek recover minerals mitigate impacts leaching, bioleaching, flotation methods. analysis was complemented with particular legislative framework for every country, highlighting those formal regulations a environment. available registry flora fauna affected by discharge toxic metals explored. As study case, “Playa Verde” project detailed, which recovers copper from tailings, uses phytoremediation neutralize metals. Countries must regularize due significant implementation new technologies necessary reduce waste.

Submarine Optical Communication: A research Review
The future of tactical ocean environment will be increasingly complicated. In addition to traditional communication links there will be a proliferation of unmanned vehicles in space, in the air, on the surface, and underwater. To effectively utilize these systems improvements in underwater communication systems are needed. Since radio waves do not propagate in sea water and acoustic communicati...

Article history: Received: 11.11.2014. Received in revised form: 4.2.2015. Accepted: 6.2.2015. The disposal of mine tailings is identified as one source of an environmental impact finally resulting in a typically degraded ecosystem. It can easily cause air and water pollution and is a source of man-made mudslides with high-potential socioeconomic-energy impacts. Pollution control and ecological...
متن کاملMechanisms of tsunami generation by submarine landslides: a short review
Wave formation and propagation due to submarine landslides are complex phenomena that may be divided into four parts: Landslide dynamics, energy transfer from landslide motion to water motion, wave propagation in open water, and wave run-up along the shores. This paper focuses on the energy transfer from landslide motion to water motion, i.e. the generation of tsunamis by submarine landslides.
متن کاملA New Procedure for Deep Sea Mining Tailings Disposal
Deep sea mining tailings disposal is a new environmental challenge related to water pollution, mineral crust waste handling, and ocean biology. The objective of this paper is to propose a new tailings disposal procedure for the deep sea mining industry. Through comparisons of the tailings disposal methods which exist in on-land mining and the coastal mining fields, a new tailings disposal proce...
